About Me

Jennifer Pierce
CEO of Polishing Pemberley

Hello!

My name is Jennifer Pierce, an Ohio native with roots that extend to the deep south, where my family moved when I was eight years old. In that vibrant culinary environment, I had the privilege of being surrounded by some of the finest cooks in the country. They graciously shared their skills with me and taught me how to be at home in the kitchen. They made sure that I was well equipped to be an efficient hostess regardless of the size of the group I was serving. Although my family relocated back to Ohio over two decades ago, the influence of my southern upbringing continues to echo in my kitchen. One might say I’m just a northern girl with a southern heart.

My culinary journey is centered around a desire to share the invaluable recipes and techniques acquired from those exceptional southern cooks. I learned so many valuable nuggets of information that I would love to share with all of you. Recipes that along with the family and friends who enjoy them, help to create the heart of the home. They are a big part of what makes home “not just a place, but an experience.” Polishing Pemberley has always reflected this value.

As for my personal life, I have been married for 34 years to a wonderful man, and together we have cultivated a close-knit family. We have been blessed with four children. Three daughters and a son. Our eldest daughter and son-in-law blessed us with a grandson in 2017 and a granddaughter in 2021, bringing immeasurable joy to our lives.

In our home, we share our troubles, work through our differences and laugh together far more than we cry. A large part of this family bond was forged around the table and cooking together in the kitchen. On more than one occasion, my daughters and I could be found twirling and dancing around the kitchen while waiting for a cake to cool or a pie to come out of the oven. I want to pass these moments on to you, so that your family can also begin to share a love of cooking.

Cooking, often perceived as a drudgery, needs to be so much more. I would like to show you how that cooking is a way to bring family together. Recipes are not just words on a card, but a shared history that is passed down from one generation to another. I want to show you that even on days when you’re at your busiest, you can still sit down to a comforting meal and share warm conversation with those you love.

Beyond the kitchen, my leisure pursuits include reading, being creative, knitting, sewing, and tending to both flower and vegetable gardens. Cozy fireplaces, vacations, and the laughter of children are among the simple pleasures that bring warmth to my heart.

Formerly engaged in the role of Administrative Assistant, the decision to transition into blogging was driven by a desire to always be available for my family while still making a positive impact in the lives of others. In 2019, Polishing Pemberley was created. Originally created to be a homemaking blog, Polishing Pemberley transitioned to a recipe blog in 2024, after multiple subscriber requests for more recipe content.

As I embark on this culinary adventure with you, I eagerly look forward to sharing my passion for cooking and the warmth it brings to family life. Your journey in the kitchen doesn’t have to be a solitary task; let’s explore together how recipes go beyond a list of instructions, becoming a bridge between generations and creating shared histories. I look forward to being a part of your cooking experiences and helping you discover the joy of bringing your loved ones together around delicious meals and heartwarming conversations.
